Thea Tolentino has no qualms doing kontrabida roles, believing these suit her well.
After winning the reality hit series “Protégé” in 2012, Thea had played antagonist six times. In fact, this early, many believe the actress will be the next sought-after Kapuso villain.
She doesn’t have any problem getting bashers for her portrayals saying, “At least I know na effective ’yung pagganap ko.”
Doesn’t she worry people might think she is “masama ang ugali” in real life?
Thea will play antagonist role on the upcoming afternoon series “Haplos.” She plays Lucille, a sexy promo girl who uses her looks to her advantage.
Thea distinguished Lucille from her previous characters.
“Eto kasi may powers siya eh. So hindi lang siya basta masama, may mga rituals din siyang gagawin para makuha niya ’yung gusto niya,” she explained.
According to the 20-year-old actress, she seeks advice from the production team.
Joining Thea on the series are Rocco Nacino, Sanya Lopez, and Pancho Magno.
Thea has good words for Sanya, whom she considers a good friend. The two first worked on the drama series “The Half Sisters.”
“Nakakatuwa kasi magkakasama naman kami kasi masarap makipag-trabaho kapag close mo ’yung kasama mo ’di ba?,” she said. “And ako sobrang proud ako kay Sanya kasi ang daming magagandang nangyayari sa career niya, so sana tuloy-tuloy lang.”
“Haplos” starts airing July 10 on GMA Afternoon prime.
No to sexy shoot
Thea already appeared on two teleseryes wearing swimsuit but despite this, the actress said she is still not open to do sexy pictorials.
She revealed receiving an offer to pose for a certain men’s magazine.
“Nahihiya po ako sa ganyang pictorials. Feeling ko hindi pa po ako ready sa mga ganyan,” she said.
Thea said she is not confident in flaunting her body despite getting positive on her figure.
Still, Thea isn’t closing her doors on anything.
“As much as possible po kasi wholesome ang gusto kong image,” she noted. “Pero let’s see, open naman po ako sa mga posibilidad na pwedeng mangyari in the future.”
Steady in love
Thea said everything is going well between her and boyfriend Mikoy Morales.
It was only this year when the two publicly shared their four-year relationship though Thea insisted they never hid their relationship.
“Okay naman ’yung relasyon namin,” she said. “Actually hindi ko naman siya tinatago, it’s just that hindi lang kami ’yung tipo ng ipinapaalam ’yung lahat ng nangyayari sa relasyon namin.”
According to Thea, it is better for them to have a quiet relationship.
Does she want to work with Mikoy on a teleserye, we asked.
“Parang weird, awkward po,” she said, laughing.
She related how they seemingly had a hard time working in one episode of “Maynila.”
Mikoy had done gay roles recently. Thea is fine with it.
“Okay lang siyempre as an actor, kung kailangan niyang gawin, gagawin,” she said.
