Major thoroughfares in the cities of Quezon, Pasig, and Caloocan will undergo repairs and maintenance throughout the weekend, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced Friday.
The road maintenance activities were scheduled to start at 11p.m. Friday.
DPWH-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) said the road works will be carried out until 5a.m. Monday morning, July 31.
In Quezon City, to be affected are : EDSA near Roosevelt Avenue (2nd lane southbound), Quirino Highway between T. Urbano and Mindanao Avenue (2nd lane), Congressional Avenue between Tandang Sora Avenue and Luzon Avenue (3rd lane) Mindanao Avenue-Mindanao Tunnel (northbound), Luzon Avenue (1st lane), Luzon Avenue between Commonwealth Avenue and Congressional Avenue Extension (westbound) and A. Bonifacio Avenue between Malindang Street and Labo Street (2nd lane, southbound).
Over in Pasig City, road repairs will be done along C-5 Road near Julia Vargas (southbound) and Manila East Road in front of Ortigas building (northbound).
Meantime in Caloocan City, concrete re-blokcing will be done on the northbound portion of McArthur Highway near the Monumento Circle.
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes due to expected build-up of vehicular traffic in the affected areas.
