WATCH: Ben Mbala doesn’t want La Salle’s season to end yet

Nobody among the La Salle Green Archers embodied survival mode more than Ben Mbala in Game 2 of the UAAP men’s basketball finals.

The 2-time MVP was a workhorse for the reigning champions, patrolling the paint on defense and muscling his way for emphatic, rim-rattling dunks against the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

This perfectly executed second-quarter flush was the most noteworthy.

On defense, Mbala was soaring on a whole different level, literally and figuratively.

Mbala wasn’t done leaving a path of destruction. In the fourth quarter, he put Chibueze Ikeh and other Blue Eagles in a bird cage with an “are-you-kidding-me” spin move capped by a one-handed jam.

His stats (20 points, 16 rebounds, 3 steals and 4 blocks), together with intangibles such as relentless activity and intensity, have helped La Salle extend the series to a deciding game.
