Nothing escapes the eyes of the netizens.
Malacañang yesterday said the upside down presidential seal wrongfully installed in the president ‘s podium Friday night was not meant to embarrass President Duterte.
The statement was issued by the Palace after netizens pointed out, and poked fun of, the wrongfully installed presidential seal which was visible during Duterte’s speech in Davao City last night.
Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella, in a statement, admitted that an error was committed and added that it was an act of omission.
“An error was committed in the installation of the presidential seal at an event in Davao City yesterday. There was, however, no attempt to embarrass the President,” Abella said this morning.
According to the Palace official, the incident was immediately investigated and appropriate measures have been taken.
“A careful study determined the incident as an act of omission. Appropriate measures have been taken against those responsible,” Abella said.
According to Abella, all offices involved in presidential visits and coverage have, upon meticulous review, instituted procedures to prevent the occurrence of a similar incident.
“All offices concerned sincerely apologize for the incident and renewed the shared commitment to uphold the highest standard of service and support for the President and all his engagements,” he said.
The wrongfully installed presidential seal was visible during the first few minutes of Duterte’s speech during the 11th Ambassadors’ Tour Philippine Reception in Davao City.
Screenshots of the upside down presidential seal immediately went viral on social media as the President made his almost one-hour speech last night.
