ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The names of 36 suspected drug personalities here ended up in a drop box at Punta Tabuc village three weeks after Tokhang Reboot was launched.

Punta Tabuc village chief Nestor Buenviaje said they were surprised by the number of names that were dropped in the Tokhang drop box.

Tokhang, which stands of toktok (knock) and hangyo (ask), refers to the PNP’s cornerstone campaign to convince suspected pushers to surface and surrender instead of being subjected to police operations.

Buenviaje said they opened the box on Sept 8, 2017 to collect the names.

He said the names will be validated by the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) and the PNP to ensure that the personalities are truly involved in illegal drugs.

Punta Tabuc is one of the alleged drug-haven villages here after several persons involved in illegal drug trading were arrested in numerous operations.

Tokhang Reboot was officially launched last Aug. 22, 2017 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall here.

The activity was led by Roxas City Mayor Angel Alan Celino and Roxas City Police Station in line with Project Double Barrel Reloaded.

Also, 47 barangay captains led by Liga ng mga Barangay president and ex-officio SP member Virgilio “Yoyo” Santos Jr. were present in the launch and signing of the Tokhang Reboot covenant.

After the signing, drop boxes for information on drug personalities were also distributed. The drop boxes were placed in conspicuous places where anyone can drop a list of persons allegedly engaged in illegal drug trade.
