Concert performer Token Lizares has been producing benefit shows for almost three decades now. (Kaya pala Token ang name n’ya!)

In an interview, she revealed her mom influenced her advocacy.

Her mom christened her Token for a reason.

“’Yun ang tinawag n’ya sakin kasi sabi n’ya sakin, ‘Anak, Token is a gift. Gusto kita maging regalo sa ibang tao,’” Token explained. (Ay, mahilig ako sa regalo!)

Her friends in the entertainment media, meanwhile, gave her the title, Charity Diva.

“I love God so much. He has showered me with so much and I have made it my mission to give back to the less fortunate.

The former Metropolitan theater talent earns from her performances abroad but when she is in Manila, most of her concerts’ proceeds go to a beneficiary. She does this with the help of generous sponsors and celebrities who also have the heart for public service.

Token revealed. (Akala ko rin dati, mag-ma-madre ako! Chos!)

Token is also into recording songs. Her first album featured songs from various composers while the follow-up highlighted her own inspirational compositions.

She is set to release her third album, a collaboration with composer Vehnee Saturno. It is titled “’Till The World Is Gone” under Ivory Music And Video.

The Aliw Awards nominee for best new female artist dreams of organizing a series of concerts to raise funds for her dream project: Free mental hospitals.

“’Yan talaga ang pangarap ko. Wala tayo n’yan. Push!)
