“Titibo-Tibo” sung by Moira dela Torre clinched the grand prize at the Himig Handog 2017 songwriting competition over the weekend on variety show “ASAP.”
The song, written by Libertine Amistoso, is about a girl who finds herself acting more lady-like after falling in love with a guy.
On Facebook, Moira said “Titibo-Tibo” is a “gift” she’ll be “forever grateful for.”
“Thank you, Lord!!! W e won!!! Congratulations to us, Ate Libertine!! Thank you for trusting me with your beautiful song and for letting me make it my own… ‘Titibo-Tibo is a gift I’ll forever be grateful for,” her post read.
Moira also thanked her management, Cornerstone, for their “endless support.”
“(To) @ofcmoisters (her official fan group) for getting us to trend so many times and most importantly, thank you @starmusicph for letting me be part of #HimigHandog2017!! I couldn’t feel more blessed than I do today… I love you guys. Thank you, everyone!!!” she added.
Finishing at second place is Jona’s “Sampu,” written by Raizo Chabeldin and Biv de Vera; followed “Extensyon” composed by Aikee Aplacador and interpreted by Iñigo Pascual at third place.
“Wow Na Feelings” penned by Karlo Zabala and interpreted by Janella Salvador, and “Tanghaling Tapat” interpreted by Unit 406 as composed by Gabriel Tagadtad bagged the fourth and fifth places, respectively.
The following also received special awards: Soc Villanueva’s “Tayo Na Lang Kasi” for Myx Choice for Best Music Video (Meridian International College), MOR 101.9’s Choice, and One Music PH’s Choice for Favorite Interpreter for Jason Dy and Kyla.
TFC’s Global Choice for Favorite Song went to “Wow Na Feelings,” while Kaye Cal’s “The Labo Song” took home the Star Music’s Listeners’ Choice.
