In December of last year, actor Raymond Gutierrez weighed 260 pounds. Fast forward to four months later, he lost 65 pounds. He has since become a “fitspiration” to everybody.

Raymond decided to create a major change in his life and he focused on his goal—to be healthy. Through exercise and eating the right food, he achieved his goal. He also quit drinking alcohol and stopped eating beef, pork, pizza, and rice.

People took notice of Raymond’s major weight loss. Aside from being on the entertainment pages of newspapers and magazines, his story was found in the wellness magazines and fitness TV shows.

  • Fit and sexy Solenn Heussaff takes charge of her life by choosing to #LiveBetter.

  • Will Dasovich lives an active and healthy life by always making time to exercise.

  • Nico Bolzico believes that you have to take charge of your finances to decrease unhealthy spending habits.

  • Raymond Gutierrrez has chosen to #LiveBetter by changing his lifestyle into a healthier one.

“At one point in my life, I said, I’m just going to be like this forever. I’m just going to be unhealthy. I felt like I was settling and it took a while for me to wake up and say it’s never too late. So four months ago, I made that decision to live a healthier lifestyle and now we’re here,” says Raymond. “I was my own roadblock. I had so many doubts. I’m always busy. I have so much work. I don’t have time to work out. A healthy lifestyle wasn’t a priority for me before and I’m so happy that I turned that around because now I feel like I can do anything. I’m able to have  a fuller life. I can travel anywhere. Nothing is moving me back and I think it’s so important to take timeout for yourself no matter how busy you are.  So now I really take time out of my busy schedule to focus on myself.”

Along with Will Dasovich, Solenn Heusaff, and Nico Bolzico, Raymond recently became the thought leaders and ambassadors of Philam Life’s new wellness campaign: Live Better, a campaign that centers on wellness and seeks to help Filipinos live life to the fullest.

“At the core of Live Better is the Vitality Program, a holistic program that helps Filipinos live better by letting them take charge of their overall health, their mind, body, as well as their financial wellness. What we’re doing through the campaign is encourage people to engage in our vitality wellness program. It’s very simple. You work out what you need to do to get better and Philam Life will reward you for doing that. So the campaign is really helping people live longer, healthier, and better. It’s uplifting everybody’s confidence to raise a healthy lifestyle,” says Tim Marriott, Philam Life’s chief marketing officer.

Through this campaign, the company seeks to encourage Filipinos to take control of their overall health in order to live longer, healthier, and better. This motivation is in light of the alarming results of the 2016 Healthy Living Index on Filipinos’ behavior and perception toward health. The study showed that while adults in the country have high self-awareness on the need to improve their health, they fail to do so due to unhealthy habits and poor lifestyle choices.

The four personalities will join powerhouse athletes Alyssa Valdez and Mika Reyes to help start the process of raising awareness that wellness is as simple as taking your first steps, that it doesn’t have to be complicated. The company also developed an app called Vitality Active, with which you can sync your device and start rewarding yourself just by taking small steps to getting well.

“The reality is there are four lifestyle choices that contribute to major non-communicable diseases and they are drinking too much, smoking, not exercising, and eating unhealthily. And those four lifestyle choices are responsible for cancer, pulmonary diseases, respiratory diseases, and diabetes. They’re all choices, so you can either choose to do it or choose not to,” says Tim. “What we’re encouraging people to do is to make good choices with our four pillars—fitness, wellness, what you eat, and your financial health as well. And what we’re going to do is to raise awareness by starting to make the right choices.”
