Jolina Magdangal and husband Mark Escueta believe a sibling is the greatest gift a parent can give their child

It seems local Tinseltown is becoming a kiddie playground of sorts with many actors on the family way.

Among them is Jolina Magdangal who recently announced plans to add to her and husband Mark Escueta’s brood.

Jolina and Mark have a three-year-old son Pele Inigo. They wish to have four more kids in the near future.

With Pele now three years old, the couple are eyeing to have baby number two this year.

Jolina is not pressuring herself though.

Then there’s the matter of age. According to Jolina, it’s better for her to have babies now as “hindi naman na din ako bumabata.”

To have a (very) big family is Jolina’s biggest dream. She grew up with four siblings while her husband Mark has three siblings.

“Masaya kasi ’yun kapag may okasyon,” she maintained.

The singer admitted she had difficulties during her first pregnancy. In fact, she considers Pele a “miracle baby.”

But if anything, she believes her second would be a lot easier as she already mastered all the do’s and don’ts of pregnancy.

Positive changes

Jolina is happy with how Pele is developing as he grows up.

“Mas maboka na siya, mas makanta, mas malikot though in fairness naman sa kanya, hindi ko siya nako-consider na terrible,” the proud mother shared. “Terrific siya.”

According to Jolina, Pele is very “malambing” as “he always tells me ‘I love you Mama.’”

“Nakakakilig lang na out of the blue sasabihin niya ako ng ganon,” she maintained.

The “Magandang Buhay” host is proud that Pele, at three, knows how to change clothes by himself.

“Kaya na niyang maghubad ng sapatos niya. Tapos kaya na rin niya magsabon ng katawan ng mag-isa,” she said, adding, “Nauutusan ko na nga eh.”

Mark has observed certain changes, too. “Mas nakakaalala na siya ngayon,” he said.

According to the Rivermaya drummer, Pele also inherited their passion for music. The boy often sings the Troll’s version of “True Colors,” as with “Let It Go,” the theme from “Frozen.”

If anything, Mr. and Mrs. Escueta make sure Pele gets the right influences.

Jolina related that Pele learned to say the word “charot” ( Filipino gay lingo that means joke only) after bringing him to the set of “Magandang Buhay.”

“’Yung stylist ko kasi hilig niyang sabihin ’yun (charot) so after ilang days, nagulat ako kasi sinasabi na ni Pele,” she shared.

“So kami naman ni Mark, nandito lang kami to explain everything na nasa paligid niya kasi hindi naman natin maiiwasan ‘di ba? Kailangan talaga tutukan ng mabuti,” Jolina added.

Super hands-on

Despite their busy schedules, the couple spends enough time with their son.

“Basta may work, basta kung pwede ko siya isama, isasama ko talaga siya,” she shared.

Jolina revealed Pele has no yaya.

It was a firm decision for the two not to hire a yaya in order for them to be hands-on with Pele as much as possible.

Do they still have time for dates, we asked.

“Oo naman,” Jolina shot back.
Meanwhile, the Escueta family recently renewed their contract as endorsers of Megasoft Hygienic Products Inc.

The family has been with the brand since 2015, having been endorsing Baby Pants Easy Wear Diapers.

According to Megasoft Hygienic Product Inc Vice President, Aileen Go, the Escuetas is the perfect choice for the brand.

She shared she has been an avid fan of Jolina for many years now.

“Super idol ko siya eh. Du’n nagsimula lahat, pero nakita ko sa family nila na sobrang busy sila yet they still have time for Pele,” Aileen explained. (With report from Jojo P. Panaligan)
