In two weeks naman pwede na to. Oo, sa start ng season ready na — Ginebra guard LA Tenorio on playing in the 43rd PBA opener after undergoing an elbow procedure
There is no stopping Barangay Ginebra point guard LA Tenorio.
Not even after undergoing a procedure on his right elbow just a day after adding another championship under his belt.
Tenorio ensures fans that he will be suiting up for his 510th straight PBA game on December 17.
The Gin Kings’ court general will have enough time to recover after undergoing a procedure on his hurting elbow just a few hours after Ginebra’s 101-96 Finals series Game 7 win over Meralco to annex their second straight PBA Governors’ Cup title last week.
“Hopefully magalaw ko na ng full range ang elbow ko pero OK naman. Maganda naman ang resulta ng elbow (ko),” said Tenorio during the Gin Kings’ victory party at the San Miguel Company headquarters Monday.
The conference’s Finals Most Valuable Player for the second straight year spent the morning after Ginebra’s championship celebration in the hospital. Last year he was at the hospital for the birth of his youngest son.
Tenorio said that definitely he won’t miss the Gin Kings’ opener and his 510th straight match.
“Ano kasi procedure lang naman, arthroscopic surgery parang ganoon,” said the 33-year-old cager, who came into the victory party with his left arm wrapped in bandage . “It’s not a major surgery na kailangan buksan.”
“In two weeks naman pwede na ‘to. Oo, sa start ng season ready na,” said Tenorio.
Tenorio played through the Finals with a bum elbow but still managed to average 13.3 points, 3.7 assist, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in the series.
He scored 26 points including five triples in the title-clincher.
