The Philippine contingent to the 9th Cheerleading World Championships hauled in eight medals in its bid in Takasaki, Japan, as per Dyan Castillejo.
The unheralded MAG Irigia Team led the charge, taking home two gold medals in the Senior Cheer Dance Team and the Senior Cheer Dance Doubles categories.

Meanwhile, the UP Pep Squad claimed a silver medal in the All-Female Cheerleading Team division and two bronze mints in the Mixed Small Group Cheerleading category and the All-Female Small Group Cheerleading classification ahead of their much-anticipated return to the UAAP Cheerdance Competition this December 2.
St. Scholastica’s College, Manila also raked in a silver and a bronze at the Junior 2 Cheer Dance Team and Cheer Dance Doubles Junior 1 categories respectively.
The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines meanwhile, capped off the Philippines’ haul in the interntational tiff by finishing with a bronze medal in the Cheer Dance Team Junior 1 category.
