Strong start for Posadas » Manila Bulletin Sports

Veteran Lara Posadas shot a 10-game series of 2098 pinfalls Sunday as she opened her bid for a seconds straight Bowling World Cup national crown at Coronado Lanes (Starlanes).

Posadas, the country’s lady representative in the International BWC held in Shanghai, China, posted 205, 252 and 207 games to recover from a low 176 start and gain enough room to keep a 44-pinfall lead over prodigious national bowler Alexis Sy, who recorded 2049.

Posadas, also a member of the Philippine team which competed in the recent Southeast Games in Malaysia, also came through with games of 226, two 223s and two more 207s.

Krizziah Tabora checked in third with 1964, followed by Dyan Coronacion (1962), Mades Arles (1957), Liza Clutario (1927), Rochelle Munsayac (1911), Amelyn Sisperez (1911) and veteran international campaigner Liza del Rosario (1906).
