The 2017 PBA Commissioners Cup Finals is all tied up at 2-2 with the series becoming more physical moving forward. Game 4 saw another altercation, this time involving TnT’s Joshua Smith and SMB’s Arwind Santos.
In one play in the fourth quarter, Santos was helping to double-team the TnT reinforcement and came up with a successful block. Santos tried to do the same in another play but ended up accidentally hitting Smith in the head.
Smith took exception of the hit, pushing “Spider-Man” to the floor. Santos was whistled for a flagrant foul though he points out how Smith should have gotten one too for pushing him above the shoulders.
Above the shoulder pa rin yun.
Santos lay on the floor after the push and took some time before getting back up on his feet. But when the TnT supporters saw the replay, they started jeering the SMB forward. for exaggerating.
“Hindi naman flop. May tama talaga,” explained Santos. Still, Santos admitted that he did exaggerate a bit.
Santos adds that Smith’s reaction may be due to the block he had on the previous play.
“Pwede, diba?
More so, Santos was very vocal about how the refs called the game and not giving Smith an F1. “Yun lang yung punto namin. Pangit ang tawagan masyado,” said Santos.
Asked about the shoving incident, Smith said, “It is between me and him.”
