Rivera goes 11 for 11 in National Slalom tilt


MILO Rivera of Tough Gear Racing Team stretched his unbeaten streak to 11 races on Sunday in the 11th leg of the 2017 Phoenix National Slalom Series, which for the first time in its storied history, was held on a circuit track – the Tarlac Circuit Hill.

Rivera, who virtually crowned himself slalom king, submitted a time of  of 70.82, with Milo’s brother and teammate Estefano Rivera stealing second place with 71.32.

Martina Sofia Munoz, a 9-year-old girl who started slalom racing only this year through the support of his parents and grandparents from the RodLea Racing Team, is shown prior to her turn.

Mark Young Racing Team and Cars Unlimited’s Inigo Anton placed third with a time of 71.66.

Meanwhile, Anton also brought home the Front Wheel and Novice best time of the day, followed by Vegil Calayo of JAF Racing Team (74.16) and Powee Base of PMMS Racing Team (74.44) and Armand Marcaida (75.86).

The 2017 RACE Motorsports Club National Slalom Series is presented by Phoenix Premium 98, Phoenix Accelerate Fully Synthetic Oil, major sponsors Federal Tyres and Outlast Battery. It is also supported by Starbright Body Kits, Auto Transporter, Cars Unlimited Auto Sales Fairview and Mark Young Cars, media partners Stoplight TV, C! Magazine, Auto Car Magazine, Power Wheels Magazine, Ride and Drive Philippines and Driven2ride.ph.

The event was also backed by Pepon Morave and Gov. Susan Yap, who provided the ambulance and rescue team on standby, plus police assistance. 

Participants enjoyed the long track, with the usual twists and turns and the exciting 360-degree turn. 

The event was participated in by Tough Gear Racing Team, JAF Racing Team, Cabanatuan Auto Club, Globe Spade Baguio City,  Team Comet Tarlac, Kajega Racing Team, Mark Young Cars, G Ppot Racing performance, GHP Racing Team and RodLea racing Team.

The 12th and final leg will be held on Dec. 10 at Robinsons Starmills Pampanga. It will be as always a Birthday celebration galore of all December celebrants Sofia Martina Munoz, drivers Noel Rivera and Carlos Anton and organizer Bing Bang Dulce.
