The 2017 Philippine National Figure Skating Championships took place last Nov. 26 and 27 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena; an annual event pegged to rank rising Filipino skaters for international competition.
Michael Martinez and Jules Alpe did not take part in the nationals this year. Yamato Rowe topped the senior level with a total score of 129.34 against guest skater Chetan Reddy Kammakatla of India.
In the senior ladies class, SEA Games bronze medallist Alisson Krystle Perticheto shone brightly with a total score of 133.93 over fellow Filipina Samantha Cabiles.
Sophia Guidote successfully defended the junior ladies division, with a total score of 87.60. Dianne Gabrielle Panlilio settled for the Silver (78.62) while Elia Mariel Mendoza copped the bronze (73.75).
In the advance novice, Charmaine Skye Chua glided her way to the gold with a total score of 67.26. Skye Frances Patenia copped the silver (60.77) while Aiko Marie Shibata settled for the bronze (54.06).
Ann Cathryn Lagemann stood out in the basic novice A class, followed by Felicity Cristobelle Eco and Veronica Claire Eid. For basic novice B, it was Anika Melle Angsico winning the gold with a total score of 25.10, followed by Nicole Vasil Dristas and Haley Elizabeth Streleoff.
Other figure skaters who dazzled in their respective divisions include Hayden Isabel Bulacating who topped the pre-novice class with a score of 35.73. Celine Tansipek and Czerrine Ramos got the silver and bronze respectively.
Ayasofya Vittoria Aguirre topped the juvenile division with a final score of 27.25 while Arielle Pascual and Shaelynn Adrianne Bolos got the silver and bronze respectively.
