Tanduay Rhum sizzled from start to finish to annihilate Zark’s Burger, 141-65, in the 2017 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) D-League Foundation Cup on Monday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Rhum Masters dominated the Jawbreakers early, erecting a 35-6 spread after the first period and never looked back to post the biggest winning margin in the league’s history with 76 points.

Racal previously held the record of 60 points against Zark’s Burger, 150-90, last June 8.

James Martinez topscored for Tanduay with 23 points on five-of-eight from beyond the arc to go along with his nine assists.

Jerwin Gaco added 21 markers and eight rebounds while Paul Sanga chipped in 20 points and four boards for the Rhum Masters, who created a three-way tie for third spot along with Team Batangas and Centro Escolar University with identical 4-2 slates.

Paul Andrew Villa netted 15 markers while Lester Alvarez had 11 points also for Tanduay.

“We just came from a loss that’s why my players had this mindset to win the game. Luckily for us, we had a very good and strong start,” said Rhum Masters coach Lawrence Chongson.

“Records are not important if we don’t make it to the next round. What is important is that we get the crown,” he added.

Robby Celiz led the Jawbreakers with 13 points and three rebounds while Jerome Ferrer and Clark Bautista added 12 and 11 markers, respectively, for the Jawbreakers, who dropped to 1-7 in the team standings.
