Camp Dangwa, Benguet – A total of 12,634 assorted pieces of abandoned lumber with a total volume of 1,519 board feet worth P43,337.00 were recovered by joint operatives in a “One Time Big Time Operations” (OTBT) against illegal logging in the region.

A total of 106 pieces of abandoned assorted lumber with a total volume of 884 board feet worth P26,289 were recovered by joint operatives of Benguet Police Provincial Office in the municipality of Buguias, Bokod and Itogon in Benguet province on August 26.

On the following day, nine pieces of abandoned lumber and slabs with a total volume of 35 board feet were likewise recovered at the forested areas of Sitios Kalimban, Balinet, Paew, Pitil and Bangao, all of Barangay Gusaran, Kabayan, Benguet.

In Ifugao, a total of 125.4 board feet of abandoned lumber in different sizes with an estimated market value of P3,754.20 was recovered at Sitio Dinapugan, Tuplac, Kiangan, Ifugao.

In Apayao, a total of 15 pieces of abandoned tanguile flitches with a total of 600 board feet worth P12,000.00 were recovered in Barangay Barocboc, Sta Marcela, Apayao.

Recovered assorted pieces of lumber are now under the custody of the concerned operating units prior to their turnover to the respective Department of Environment/Community Environment and Natural Resources Office and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office.
