JUST A THOUGHT: “Wisdom is knowing what to do next; virtue is doing it.” – David Starr Jordan
PIOLO-JUDY ANN REUNION: The possibility of a reunion movie between former loveteam Piolo Pascual and Judy Ann Santos echoed during a Sun Life event at a Makati hotel the other day.
The idea was floated jokingly by ABS-CBN chief content officer Charo Santos Concio, herself a Sun Life endorser.
Charo expressed her wish to finally come up with a film that would reunite the two box office stars.
Caught by surprise on stage, Piolo and Judy Ann immediately agreed. Judy Ann said jokingly to Piolo: Kaya mo?
In an interview, Piolo said he owed a lot to Judy Ann, who was his first screen partner. ‘She helped me a lot in my career,’ he said.
Both actors said they’re willing to do that reunion film as long as certain conditions are met. These include scheduling and most important, the right material.
Charo recalled that the three of them acted together in TV soap Esperanza back in the 90s.
Star Cinema is considering several scripts to bring back the Piolo-Juday tandem.
SUN SHORTS: Judy Ann, Piolo, Matteo and Charo shared the same stage during the launch of Sun Shorts, a collection of digital films which highlight the relationships that make lives #BrighterTogether.
The three new Sun Shorts films are ‘Waves,’ ‘She Said, She Said’ and ‘Sayaw’ present stories inspired by the stories of Sun Life clients.
Sun Shorts hope to show Filipinos how life insurance can help them ease their burdens and celebrate life triumphs.
“Waves” by Zig Marasigan gives a peek into the mindset of millennials, who are often criticized for adhering to the “YOLO” mindset and not preparing well enough for the future; a young single mom’s journey takes centerstage in “She Said, She Said” by Nic Reyes; while Mihk Vergara will delve into the reality of coping with a long-time marriage that has gone cold in “Sayaw.”
The films were released June 7 at www.sunshorts2.com, and will also be uploaded on Facebook.
Sun Life released its first collection of Sun Shorts in 2012. (NESTOR CUARTERO)
