National shooters, who won medals during the 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XVIII in Châteauroux, France last August, will hold a ‘meet-and-greet’ session with gun enthusiasts at the 25th Defense & Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) which opens on Nov. 16 at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
World shooting champ Jethro T. Dionisio, president of the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers (AFAD), said some of the Pinoy top guns will share their memorable experience during the prestigious world shoot at the gun show exhibit venue 1 p.m. on Nov. 18.
The DSAS Part 2 will be open to gun enthusiasts until Nov. 20, Dionisio emphasized.
At the opening ceremonies, AFAD will honor the Philippine team for giving honors for the Filipinos. AFAD has been supportive of Pinoy top shooters competing both in foreign also in local events.
Among those who bagged medals were Dionisio, Jeufro Emil ‘Jag’ Lejano, Edward Rivera, Kahlil Adrian Viray, Rolly Nathaniel Tecson, Israelito Pible, Joseph Bernabe Jr., John Paul Santiaguel, Lenard Lopez, William Magalong, Benjamin Belarmino, Bernardo Mari V. Alejandro, Isrealito Pible, and Grace Tamayo.
The Philippine team placed sixth in overall medal standings during the six-day competition.
On top of this, DSAS has lined up several other free seminars for gun enthusiasts who will visit the gun show.
Among them are lecture on Competitive Shooting versus Combat Shooting by Rosey Labayog and Gun Safety & Responsible Ownership by Ernie Claudio.
Aside from these, there will be live demonstrations on martial arts like taekwondo and karate-do by self-defense instructors from Philippine National Police (PNP). DSAS will also raffle off exciting prizes for lucky visitors.
To avoid long queue, gun show visitors may pre-register in the AFAD website www.afad.ph/dsas.
