The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is closely monitoring the condition of the victims of the Resorts World Manila attack for assessment of appropriate interventions.
Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo specifically instructed its field office in the National Capital Region to conduct the assessment.
The DSWD-NCR assigned four staff members from its Crisis Intervention Unit to conduct hospital visits and facilitate assessment of the injured victims brought in San Juan de Dios Hospital, Pasay General Hospital, Villamor Airbase Hospital, and St. Luke’s Medical Center.
Likewise, five staff members from the Disaster Team and Protective Services Program were assigned to gather information, as well as conduct assessment on the reported 38 fatalities.
Taguiwalo said the DSWD-NCR is prepared to send technical assistance and resource augmentation to assist the affected individuals and their families, if necessary.
“The department is ready to provide appropriate assistance to the injured victims and the families who lost their loved ones because of the incident in Resorts World Manila,” she assured.
“We also reiterate our reminder to the public to remain alert and vigilant, and to report any unusual behavior, items, or activity to proper authorities in your area,” she added.
