Apart from being busy anticipating the Halloween, moviegoers were also excited to see Marvel Studios’ latest big screen offering. Thor: Ragnarok conquered the Philippine box-office for the Oct. 25 – 29 period, raking in a whopping P201 million. It also made history earning almost P40 million on its first day, the biggest opening day for any film commercially screened in local cinemas this year. Obviously, after watching a series of crappy Tagalog films in past months (since they didn’t have much of a choice) local moviegoers finally have a movie worth their hard-earned money.
She trended on Twitter with her guest appearance in TV Patrol as a Showbiz Patroler, now she’s all over social media again after her movie The Ghost Bride made a killing at the local tills. Kim Chiu’s movie made a decent P15-million first day gross amid the tough competition with big Hollywood releases. It only goes to show that although her TV series isn’t doing well, the Chinita actress still has a number of fans willing to fork money out of their pockets just to see her on the big screen.
Anne Curtis and Erwa Heussaff
If South Korea had a wedding of the century with Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo exchanging “I dos,” Philippines has its own local version. Anne Curtis and Erwan Heusaff are giving their fans a “Songsong” wedding feel based on the recent photos that the couple posted on their social media accounts. We haven’t seen any couple that tied the knot this year receiving the same kind of attention. No, not even the “It Girls” who got hitched early this year.

The actor is a Kapuso again. He is set to star in an upcoming GMA TV series entitled Santa Santita, which will be headlined by Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali. But didn’t we just see him two weeks ago in MMK? So, why the sudden loyalty shift? As much we would want to answer the question, we would just want share what we overheard a few days ago. A showbiz insider said: he’s returning to GMA because ABS-CBN failed to help him in his attempt to re-launch his career.
She would have been briefed on what topic she and Vice Ganda were going to discuss during her guesting in the popular talk show. She should have just declined to discuss about her past relationships with Ahron Villena and Thai actor Mario Maurer. Instead of people understanding her situation, or whatever we may call it, they though she just looked pathetic and her trying to be comedic wasn’t funny at all. It seems that she hasn’t moved on contrary to her claim.
It’s true that no one could hurt you if you embraced your shortcoming and weaknesses. But fans insist that Jake Zyrus’s “new appearance” is something that is hard to love. We totally agree that Jake should be proud of the way he looks right now since that’s what he wanted all along. But to expect that people would buy “the new package” is a different story. He’s in a business where appearance still matters a lot. How can you patronize a midget singer whose voice is similar to a boy going through puberty?
