MANILA – The waiting is over for fans of Paul Avelino, Ritz Azul and Ejay Falcon as the their series “The Promise of Forever,” which they started working on a year ago, is finally slated to air next month.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Azul said she is excited for people to see the show especially since this is her first teleserye in a lead role with the Kapamilya network.
“Personally proud ako and excited ako na maipalabas ito. Alam naming pinaghirapan talaga ito at talagang pinaghandaan. Medyo nagtagal siya sa pag-ere kasi sobrang inayos, ni-revise ‘yung istorya. We aimed ‘yung pagka-perfect nung show,” she said.
Azul is optimistic the Filipino viewers will like its story because it is something fresh and presents a new concept.
“Kaming mga artista naman, ginawa namin ang best namin para mapaganda din ‘yung show,” she added.
When asked how it was working with her two leading men, Azul said she didn’t have a hard time with any of them. She even gave credit to Avelino for taking good care of her especially when they shot their love scene.
“Alam ko namang aalalayan ako ni Paulo. Gentleman siya. Alam ko namang hindi niya ako papabayaan sa scene. Hindi ako masyadong sanay sa ganung scenes. In fairness naman,” she said.
Avelino, for his part, said their love scene was done in a good taste.
“Ginawa naman siya in a way na hindi kabastos-bastos tingnan. Medyo sensual siya pero mas mararamdaman niyo yung pag-ibig nila para isa’t isa kaysa yung actual na ginagawa nila,” she said.
The main plot of the series revolves around a man cursed to live forever.
As earlier teased, the new trailer of “The Promise of Forever” which was released last week begins with Nicholas (Avelino) getting struck by lightning and learning that, as a result, he has become immortal. More than 100 years later, Sophia (Azul) meets him on a cruise ship.
The two fall in love but Philip (Falcon), Sophia’s lover, makes things a bit complicated. Add to that Nicholas’ promise to never commit to a relationship unless he finds a cure for his rare condition.
“The Promise Of Forever” is helmed by “Nathaniel” director Darnel Villaflor and award-winning independent filmmaker Hannah Espia of “Transit” fame.
