‘My Dear Heart’ beats new rival show; ‘Wildflower’ hits new high

The family-oriented fantasy drama “My Dear Heart” and the Maja Salvador-led “Wildflower” helped deliver for ABS-CBN a one-two punch against rival network GMA-7, recent ratings results showed.

Under Kantar Media’s measurement, “My Dear Heart” enjoyed a healthy average national television rating of 28 percent and 26.9 percent for its Monday and Tuesday episodes, respectively. This, despite the debut of a new rival show, “My Love From the Star,” a remake of a Korean drama starring Jennylyn Mercado.

The Coney Reyes-starrer is set to end in two weeks, concluding the story centering around a child who tragically was put into a coma before turning into a soul and helping a greed-addled woman become a better person. It began airing last January and also stars Zanjoe Marudo and Bela Padilla.

Meanwhile, “Wildflower” continues to dominate the afternoon as it once again hit a new all-time high national television rating of 25 percent for Tuesday, which was more than 9 percentage points than that of rival “Wowowin.”

In recent episodes, Salvador, the show’s lead star, has been receiving praise for her performance as a woman driven by revenge for the death of her parents.

“We would like thank our viewers for the love and support they have given us in our first season. This second season, we promise to give your wilder revelations and wilder plot twists. We hope you continue loving and supporting us,” she said in an interview with ABS-CBN News’ Jeff Fernando.

Other ABS-CBN shows as “Ang Probinsyano” and “A Love To Last” continue to post similar wins for the Kapamilya network.
