Jojo Garcia, MMDA assistant general manager for planning, said closure of Balintawak to McArthur Highway starts 10 p.m. on Wednesday up to 10 a.m. Thursday morning, Bonifacio Day.

The affected road would be partially opened from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be closed again from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Garcia said the road closure is intended to give way for the preparation and celebration of 154th anniversary of Gat. Andres Bonifacio conducted by the local government of Caloocan and National Historical Institute.

Motorists are advised to take alternative roads as heavy traffic is expected within the area.

The MMDA’s number coding scheme is lifted on all cities in Metro Manila in commemoration of the Bonifacio Day.

Vehicles with license plates ending in 7 and 8 are allowed to traverse Metro Manila roads on Thursday.

Bonifacio Day is a national holiday commemorating the life of Bonifacio, the father of Philippine Revolution.
