“What they can expect is for me to deliver yung information about the team, be yung talagang source of news when it comes to the team,”
With a new UAAP season comes new beginnings, new stories, and of course, new faces.
Those new faces include this season’s batch of new courtside reporters who have been given the opportunity to serve as the link between their respective schools and the fans.
This UAAP Season 80, we welcome on board eight new courtside reporters who will be patrolling the sidelines and getting the latest scoop on your favorite UAAP teams!
Introducing National University’s new courtside reporter Miguel Dypiangco, or simply Dyp!
The 20-year old Broadcast Communications major from the University of the Philippines is a hoop junkie, and hopes to be able to rekindle his love for sports through his new assignment as NU’s sideline storyteller.
“Sumali ako kasi I wanted to bring back my love for sports. I used to play basketball back in grade school and high school.”
Dyp believes that his background in broadcast media will help a big help when he faces the cameras for the first time.
“Parang it’s in me eh, na gusto ko yung sports, and I wanted to do that through the medium I know most, which is yung broadcasting, kasi I’m taking Broadcast Communication sa UP, so having learned the things about broadcasting, I think that I’ll be able to use my knowledge when I’m reporting.”
Even though the junior bleeds Maroon, he says he’s more than ready to immerse himself in the Blue and Gold community of National University.
“I’m excited, exciting kasi bago yung coach, so I think na being able to report for this team this season will be super fun kasi yung mga bagong recruits may kilala din ako.”
More than just news and game reports, Dyp says that he plans on being something more of an insider for the UAAP fans and National U faithful.
“What they can expect is for me to deliver yung information about the team, be yung talagang source of news when it comes to the team, not just about the players, not just about the coaches, pero what they do in training, what they do to prepare for the games, and of course yung mga nagiging source of inspiration nila to do better and eventually reach the top.”
