MAFBEX 2017 hits 50,000 visitors

The 11th edition of the Manila Foods and Beverages Expo (Mafbex) was held recently at the World Trade Center Metro Manila for another unforgettable gastronomic presentation of the country’s finest flavors.

Organized by Mafbex Events Management (a subsidiary of Worldbex Services International) and presented in cooperation with the Young Hoteliers
Exposition (YHE) and the Organization of Bar Professionals (OBP), the Mafbex 2017 kicked off with ribbon cutting ceremony and a program last June 14.

Among those who graced the affair were Worldbex Services International’s key executive officers, Joseph Ang, Levi Ang, Ar. Francisco Flameño, Jill Ang, Rene Ramos, and Tessie Roque, along with VIP guests including Sen. Cynthia Villar, Agriculture Undersecretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Dean Angelo Lacson of CSB and HRAP President Eugene Yap.

Occupying a total of 15,000 sqm of exhibition space, this year’s Mafbex continued to live up to its reputation as the biggest and most anticipated food show in the country.

It showcased over 500 booths by top food and beverage brands from here and abroad and garnered total of 50,000 visitors during its five-day show. Taking center stage at Mafbex 2017 were homegrown products and service innovations.

Mafbex also turned the spotlight on the culinary talent of Filipinos with a series of kitchen activities and events held throughout the event.

Highlights include the YHE Competitions, which had categories such as cake decorating, bartending, and a black box challenge; the Chefs of the World, a series of live cooking demos by locally and internationally renowned chefs; and the 1st Mafbex Culinary Cup Home Chef Edition, an amateur cooking competition that aims to recognize talented Filipino home cooks.

Aiming to shape the future of the local food and beverage industry into one that is progressive and innovative, Mafbex presented this year’s free seminars. Open to all and free of charge, the Mafbex Seminars tackled a diverse range of topics that proved to be insightful and relevant for Filipino foodies and entrepreneurs alike.
