Bailey May is currently in Los Angeles with hopes of joining Simon Fuller’s Now United, a global pop group being produced by the “American Idol” creator.
And as if getting to work and learning from from the famed producer wasn’t enough for May, he also got the opportunity to meet pop star Miley Cyrus at the competition’s boot camp.
The Kapamilya singer was clearly thrilled to meet the “Wrecking Ball” hitmaker and took to Instagram this Tuesday to express his delight.
He captioned the post: “Just met [Miley Cyrus]! She’s soo nice.”
May is making the most out of this chance at global fame after being picked as one of the Filipino finalists of the search for Now United members, along with other local talents such as Ylona Garcia, AC Bonifacio, and GirlTrends’ Jane de Leon.
In an interview before leaving for the US, he told Push: “I’m pumped. I’m getting my mental state prepared for this awesome opportunity. I am looking forward to show people what I have and show my talent.”
May, who is half-British, is a former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate, who first became known on the Internet after covering Filipino songs of artists such as Daniel Padilla.
He will be competing for a spot in Now United, which, according to its official website, is the “first ever global pop group composed of 11 exceptional artists from 11 different countries.”
The website still says “coming soon,” but a teaser has already been posted hinting about the kind of group Fuller wants to put together.
Catering to the “social media generation,” he dares the group to “unite to make music and celebrate the joys of song and dance.”
Fuller is the creator of the cultural phenomenon “American Idol” and famously managed the career of the Spice Girls.
The other Pinoy finalists have also been documenting their experience at the competition’s boot camp on Instagram.
