Tacloban City, Leyte – Infrastructure projects worth more than P15 million were inaugurated in two towns of this province over the weekend, a report from the provincial government said here.
Leyte Gov. Leopoldo Dominico “Mic” L. Petilla, who led the inauguration and blessing of the1,100 linear meter concreted road in Barangay Cabulisan, Inopacan, told reporters that the project worth P10 million was funded by the provincial government of Leyte. He said the concreted road would be of great help not only to motorists but also to farmers in transporting their farm products to the market.
Petilla said his office also extended assistance to CIVFA farmers association also in Barangay Cabulisan and turned over 80 pigs for the members’ hog fattening project.
Petilla said other two projects inaugurated were the multipurpose gymnasium in Barangay Sta. Fe Elementary School worth P4,199,000 and the Balocawehay barangay hall worth P897,840 both in Abuyog town. He added that after the inauguration of the projects, he distributed checks amounting to P4,575,000 to the barangay chairmen as financial assistance for their priority projects.
He also distributed checks totaling P2,200,000 to the barangay chairmen in Mahaplag town, also of this province, as financial assistance for their priority projects during the completion of a compact-farming course on high-value vegetables and fruit crops in Barangay Mabuhay Mahaplag, Leyte.
