The leading faith-based station in the country, Radio Veritas, is inviting the public to visit and pray before the revered images of Our Lady of Fatima and the Our Lady of Sorrows at the Veritas Chapel in Quezon City on September 13, and September 15, respectively.
As part of station’s initiative to take part in the celebration of the centennial of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima this year, Radio Veritas holds a monthly devotion every 13th of the month in commemoration of the six apparitions in 1917. The Holy Rosary is recited at 11:30 a.m. before her image from the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Valenzuela City.
The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared every 13th day of the month for six months to three shepherd children; Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta at the Cova de Ira in Fatima, Portugal, from May to October 1917. She emphasized the need to pray the rosary every day, to wear the BrownScapular of Mount Carmel, and to perform acts of reparation and sacrifice.
Meanwhile, the faithful are also invited to venerate the image of Our Lady of Sorrows and to profess their pledge of devotion in celebration of her feast on September 15. Those who will pledge their devotion will receive a certificate and holy water.
Prayer requests, petitions,thanksgiving, and other intentions of her devotees will be offered at the Holy Mass and rosary prayer at the Veritas Chapel on September 15.
Their names will be mentioned in the different programs of the station.
The title, Our Lady of Sorrows, focuses on the seven sorrows of the Holy Mother namely; 1. The Prophecy of Simeon in the Temple, 2. The Flight into Egypt, 3. The Carrying of the Cross on Mount Calvary, 5. The Crucifixion, 6. The Taking Down from the Cross, and 7. The Burial of Jesus.
