‘Kambal, Karibal’: More Mature roles for Biguel | Tempo

SUPERNATURAL REALM – The tandem of Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali (Biguel for short) turn mature in the GMA soap “Kambal, Karibal,” riveting family and love story which transcends into the supernatural realm. They’re ready for more mature roles, having shown their acting gifts in past Kapuso shows.

Bianca stood out in the GMA martial law special “Alaala,” where she played the ill-fated activist sister of writer Boni Ilagan. For the part her pretty face was darkened, made to look older. I had to ask colleague Sister Nora (Calderon) if she was really Bianca.

The intriguing plot – It tells the story of twins Crisanta and Criselda. Unfortunately, Criselda dies because of a rare disease and remains a spirit that only appears to Crisanta. However, their close bond will start to fall apart when they both fall in love with Diego. The rivalry between them builds up when their mother’s affections are focused on Crisanta.

Eventually, Criselda’s emotions finally consume her and het soul find another person’s body to inhabit. Now that she is “alive”, she is stopping at nothing to take both her mother’s affection and Diego’s love.

ROLES – Miguel Tanfelix is Diego Ocampo, a hardworking and street smart young man who does odd jobs for a living. He grew up alone as his father abandoned him and his mother is in jail. Eventually, he meets Crisanta and falls in love with her.

Bianca Umali is Crisanta Bautista, a kind and intelligent young woman who dreams of becoming an engineer someday. She loves her twin sister very much but is forced to make sacrifices when they both fall for the same man.

POWERHOUSE – Joining them is a powerhouse cast composed of seasoned actors and actresses: Jean Garcia as Teresa Abaya; Marvin Agustin as Raymond De Villa; Alfred Vargas as Alex Magpantay; and returning Kapuso Carmina Villarroel as Geraldine Enriquez-De Villa.

The series also features award -winning artist: Ms. Gloria Romero as Anicia Enriquez and Mr. Christopher de Leon as Emmanuel de Villa.
