They got engaged in a picture-perfect proposal in the middle of the woods in Connecticut before the end of last year.
And as Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussaff tied the knot on Sunday, attention has turned to the pair’s romance anew. Below is a look back at their love story through the years:
It was in 2011 when the “It’s Showtime” host first introduced Heussaff as her boyfriend. Later that year, she confirmed that her chef beau had already met her family.
The following year, Curtis’ mom Carmen gave her vote of approval for Heussaff, describing him as the “best” boyfriend her daughter had introduced to her. “He knows how to talk to you,” she said.
Three years in and questions on the possibility of marriage started coming for Curtis and Heussaff. At the time, both acknowledged that they were too young to be thinking about settling down and that their focus remained on their careers.
Keeping his reply short and sweet to the buzzing suggestions, Heussaff said: “We are busy and we are in love so it’s good.”
Their fourth year as a couple was hounded by rumors of them secretly marrying in Australia, Curtis’ country of birth.
Appearing to have their relationship mapped out, Curtis said then: “Wala pa sa isip ko magpakasal. If it happens, it happens. Maybe in 3 to 4 years.”
In 2014, the two had to deny splitting up. A clearly irritated Heussaff lashed out at those spreading the rumors, saying: “I consider those statements, those people . . . they are not worth my time. I don’t want to bother myself with them.”
Up until 2015, Curtis and Heussaff were known for being private about their relationship. But in a rare moment that year, they gave fans a glimpse of their romance, documenting their trip to Paris on Instagram.
In December 2016, Curtis and Heussaff got engaged. She confirmed this on “It’s Showtime,” days after a clip showing her beau down on one knee in front her fueled speculation. She said she wanted to share the happy news with her fans, having been in the public eye most of her life.
This year has proven to be a busy one for the couple because of wedding preparations. But none of the stress was evident in their loved-up photoshoot in South Korea – a country Curtis very much loves thanks to her current obsession with Korean drama shows.
“Mon amour,” she wrote as the caption to a photo of her being carried by Heussaff on his back as they strolled through picturesque Nami Island.
