The head of the Philippine National Police-Internal Affairs Service (PNP-IAS) said it would conduct an immediate investigation on the policemen who were caught on CCTV video taking valuables inside a house in Caloocan City.

PNP Internal Affairs Service Inspector General Alfegar Triambulo said the probe would help them get to the bottom of the whole incident.

“Meron na po tayong ongoing investigation diyan,” Triambulo said.

“Ang IAS ay merong mandato to conduct an automatic investigation or motu proprio, lahat ng operation ng pulis na merong injury, death and violation of human rights,” he added

Triambulo said what happened in Caloocan City is a violation of one’s privacy.

“Ito ay isang violation ng karapatang pantao sa privacy or right to domicile. So kaya nga kinabukasan once na makuha namin yung mga spot report sa nangyaring ito or makuha namin sa other sources automatic ang IAs ay may investigation agad,” he said.

Triambulo said currently they are still in the “fact-finding” aspect regarding the case.

“Sa ngayon fact-finding pa lang kami. So pupuntahan iyung area, mag interview, kukunin yung record and after nun recommend na nila ng pre-charge investigation base sa nakita sa CCTV,” he said.
