THE University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) unveiled the iAmUPHi brand giant logo, Aug. 26, 2017.
According to iAmUPHi Alumni Association, the event is significant day to UPHSI and the UP High community as it underscored the beginning of a new thinking in giving back to their alma mater.
The iAmUPHi, with the tagline “Your Dreams, Your Future, Our Legacy”, is both a brand and an advocacy which every UPHSI alumnus can identify with.
It aims to provide a legal vehicle in which funds, scholarship grants, donations and other forms of donation are channeled to a proactive entity that will work closely with the high school and UPV administrations.
As an initial assistance to the school, the iAmUPHi donated 100 monobloc chairs with desks worth P66,000.
Chancellor Rommel Espinosa revealed that the budget of P20 million for the building of a new Little Theatre structure received congressional approval and may be released in the next Department of Budget and Management budget year.
On the other hand, the wish list consists of six furnished rooms to accommodate K10-K12 students, sound proofed and furnished conference room, students lounge, complete set of Public Address system, 100 monobloc chairs with arms, eight sets of modular panel board, furnished dance studio, and multimedia projector for the auditorium, which principal Lourdes C. Zamora made available to the iAmUPHi chairman Noel C. Litan spurred several alumni to organize a proactive entity that could unite UPHSI graduates.
The iAmUPHi Board of Trustees is composed of Noel C. Litan, Artemio “Junie” Pama, Irma Diaz-Lim, Catherine Mallo-Chan, DTI Assistant Secretary Ernesto Perez, Guidon dela Cruz, Ana Emilia Ruby Binayas-Palma, Doctor Marovi Ascalon-Celis, Carmela Zulueta-Sais, Azucena “Bing” Kapunan-Choa, Jessraf Palmares, Attorney Paulette Saavedra de Jesus, Jonellie Santos, Cosette Vargas-Canilao, and Joseph Anthony Lutero.
Also spotted in the launching ceremony were UP High School alumni, Iloilo 3rd district Rep. Arthur Defensor Jr. and Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog.
