Enraged human rights and cause-oriented groups staged a rally to protest the extrajudicial killings (EJKs) in front of the Caloocan City Police Station on Friday.
The protesting groups Anakpawis, Bayan, Kadamay, Gabriela and other protesters called on concerned authorities to put an on end on all forms of EJKs which have victimized even teenagers and minors.
They asked the Duterte government to hold the guilty parties accountable for their misdeeds citing that the killings of minors were uncalled for particularly that of Kian delos Santos, Carl Angelo Arnaiz and Reynaldo de Guzman.
They also condemned to the highest degree the involvement of the rotten eggs of the Caloocan police in criminal acts including the recent coordinated robbery in one of the houses in the city.
The protesters said that the police officers found guilty by the court of violent miscues and acts inimical of law enforcers be made to languish in jail.
Police officers were also asked not to be arrogant and to be more humane amid fears that more innocent persons would be killed in the government’s war on drugs.
They also questioned the supposed trend among Caloocan policemen using violent means to achieve their goals.
Newly appointed Caloocan City Police Chief Senior Superintendent Jemar Mondequillo told the public that the PNP would never tolerate unlawful acts of its men saying that the undesirables in their forces have been fired and appropriate cases have been filed against them.
