As the first Samsung  phone to feature dual cameras, the Galaxy Note 8 is a battering ram in photography.

Samsung armed the Note 8 to the teeth. The two 12MP rear cameras have Optical Image Stabilization with different lenses: The first with wide-angle lens and the second with a telephoto lens.

Camera features include Live Focus, where you can blur out background and focus on your subject while taking a photo. You can also blur backgrounds after you’ve taken a photo.

When you take photos with the Dual Capture mode on, the Note 8 will save two versions of the photo. The first one will be the standard photo that includes the subject and the background, while the second photo will be a close-up shot from the telephoto lens.

The enhanced S Pen has new tricks up its sleeve. The Screen Off Menu is now expandable, letting you take all the important notes you need up to over a 100 pages. The S Pen allows you to translate words to different languages and convert currencies.

In part of Samsung’s gamification effort in communication, you’ll be able to send GIFs and animated texts through the Live Message feature. Also new to the Note 8 is App Pair.

This combines two of your favorite apps into a single icon. When opening this icon, the screen will split in half, with each of your apps running.

The Galaxy Note 8 has a 6GB RAM and protected with Gorilla Glass 5 for both the front and back of the phone. The 6.3-inch screen features a QHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display that nearly takes up most of the phone, giving it the narrowest bezels we’ve seen on a phone yet.

These days is the season the rain, and it might bring delight toIt is certified IP68, making it resistant to both water and dust. Samsung promises that you can use the screen while wet and can even take photos while submerged.

With the Note 8 comes with Samsung’s digital assistant, Bixby. So far there are two main functions, Bixby Vision and Bixby Voice. With the latter, you can give commands to Bixby and it will perform those tasks for you. You can give Bixby a certain trigger word that will enable certain functions. For instance, you use the words “Goodnight,” this can prompt Bixby to turn on the alarm for you. So far, according to Samsung, this feature extends to the Note 8’s native apps, for now.

The power that lies within the  newest device, came from Samsung, picking up the ashes of the Note 7, and breathed life into the Note 8, as a comeback story. True enough, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 outperforms any of the Galaxy devices by afar.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be available for pre-orders starting September 8 to 17, which will include an AKG Speaker to sweeten the deal.
