Sta. Lucia rose from a two-set deficit behind the aggressive attacks of their imports to turn back Cocolife, 23-25, 22-25, 25-12, 25-23, 15-7, yesterday in the 2017 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at The Arena in San Juan City.

Ukrainian wing spiker Bogdana Anisova and Canadian reinforcement Marisa Field spearheaded the Lady Realtors’ assault in the decider, where they rallied with six straight points to pull away from a 7-6 deficit.

It was Sta. Lucia’s second victory against five losses, ending back-to-back defeats against Cignal and Foton with one assignment left in the eliminations.

Anisova sizzled at the attack line with 29 kills and managed four service aces and two blocks to finish with 35 points for the Lady Realtors, who put a solid defensive pressure at the net to thwart the Asset Managers’ offensive onslaught.

Field also showed her prowess for Sta. Lucia, returning to the game for the first time after a two-week rest from a knee injury by firing 20 points on 13 kills, two blocks and two aces.

MJ Phillips also fueled the Lady Realtors with 14 points, even as libero Kirsten Moncks contributed 14 excellent digs.

Cocolife dropped to 3-4 despite Shar Manu-Olevao’s 30-point performance, losing steam in the third set where Sta. Lucia quickly set the tone with an 11-5 start.

Taylor Milton also scored 13 points in a losing cause for the Asset Managers.

Sta. Lucia overpowered Cocolife in all departments, blasting more kills (63-59), making more blocks (11-5) and firing more aces (9-5).
