K-pop boy band EXO ranked eight in the latest Billboard Boxscore tally after grossing more than $1 million in a single concert in Los Angeles, California.
EXO raked in $1,436,158 (P72 million) with 8,668 tickets sold from their EXO’rDIUM concert held on April 28 at The Forum in Inglewood, California,, according to Boxscore, which tracks concert ticket sales. Tickets for the concert were sold at $80 (P3,990) for the lowest price and $215 (P10,723) for the highest.
The top concert on Boxscore was the Byron Bay Bluesfest in Australia which featured singers like Patti Smith & Her Band, Zac Brown Band, Jimmy Buffett and Santana, which earned $9.9 million in 5 shows.
In the Philippines, EXO held the same concert on February 25 and 26 at the Araneta Coliseum with 15,000 fans in attendance.
On the other hand, Filipino fans of EXO’s Suho celebrated his 27th birthday (26th in international age) last May 22 by running an ad.
Myeon And Only PH, a Philippine support group for Suho, ran the EXO leader’s ad from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena Media Mesh, the largest LED billboard in the Philippines with an area of 702 sq. m.
“This ad aims to promote Kim Junmyeon (Suho’s real name) as an artist, as an individual and as an inspiration to us,” according to the group. Suho is the first EXO member whose ad was ran on the LED billboard.
It is part of the group’s month-long celebration of Suho’s birthday which consisted of “Epistolae: Gifts And Letters” and “Agape: Outreach Program And Charity Drive” for the children of CRIBS Foundation and fan gathering.
