More than thirty pairs into the Jordan Brand’s flagship line and the clamor still hasn’t died down.

The Air Jordan XXXII is no different from its predecessors in terms of putting a prime on innovation and style.

“We’ve always explored new materials and technology to create the best game shoe. That was evident when we went to Italy to make the II, and it still rings true today. On the XXXII, we challenged our designers to push the limits while staying true to the brand’s DNA,” Michael Jordan said in a news release.

FHM breaks down the hype surrounding the newest Air Jordans:

Inspired by previous models

As mentioned by the GOAT himself, the latest design is a nod to the AJ II, apparent in the leather and iguana panel elements. The 32 was launched recently in Italy, where the first pairs of the follow-up release were made. In terms of performance specifications, it takes cues from the XXVIII—one of the best Jordan playing game shoes.

Shoe engineering at its finest

The XXXII is equipped with a tuned-up FlightSpeed technology that maximizes cushioning of the Zoom Air units, and a herringbone traction pattern, which allows multidirectional grip, aside from an enhanced Nike Flyknit upper.

Designer Tate Kuebris explains: “With Jordan shoes, we obsess the style in a way that puts many of the performance elements under the hood, so to speak. For example, I wanted to make the laces just disappear into the knit structure, but inside there is a whole harness system with webbing that really locks down your foot.”[ArticleReco:{“articles”:[“39678″,”38856″,”38158″,”36561”]}]

To be worn by Russell Westbrook

Being the face of the brand’s signature sneaker for the fifth consecutive year, the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player seems thrilled:

Other than from Westbrook, superstar Jordan endorsers such as Kawhi Leonard, Jimmy Butler, and Carmelo Anthony are also expected to lace ’em up.

A couple of firsts

Going back to its Flyknit construction, the 32 is reinforced by high-tenacity yarn for added flexibility—stretch, support, and zonal lockdown. It will also launch globally in a mid and low version, reportedly with a $185 price tag. Available colorways: ‘Rosso Corsa’ (Sept. 23), ‘Bred’ and ‘Bred Low’ (October 18).
