BUTUAN CITY – Series of earthquakes shook Surigao del Norte, Bukidnon and Davao provinces, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

However, these eleven tremors that all struck Wednesday morning in said provinces did not inflict any damage or injury, the state agency said.

Among the mild tremors, the strongest was the magnitude 4.0 earthquake recorded at 12:22 a.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 8), Phivolcs said, in its bulletin.

The epicenter was plotted 283 kilometers (km) southeast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental province, with a depth of 33 km.

Earlier, a 2.0 magnitude earthquake was registered at 6:50 a.m. on this same day (Nov. 8). The epicenter was located 91 km southeast of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental province, with a depth of 118 km, Phivolcs said.

A magnitude 2.5 tremor also recorded at 7:21 a.m. on this same day (Nov. 8) and its epicenter was plotted 81 km southeast of Pacific Ocean facing town of General Luna, in Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte, with a depth of 34 km, it said.

Another 2.3 magnitude earthquake was registered at 12:04 a.m. on this same day (Nov. 8). The epicenter was traced only 2 km northwest from the town proper of Kalilangan, in Bukidnon province, with a depth of 25 km, Phivolcs said.

At 12:06 on this same day (Nov. 8), a 2.7 magnitude tremor was recorded and its epicenter was located 13 km southeast of Pacific Ocean facing town of Burgos, in Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte province, with a shallow depth of only 4 km, it said.

A magnitude 3.2 earthquake was also registered at 1:13 a.m. on this same day (Nov. 8) and its epicenter was pinpointed 83 km southeast of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental province, with a depth of 79 km, the state agency said.

In nearby Davao del Sur province, a 2.9 magnitude temblor was recorded at 1: 51 a.m. on this same day (Nov. 8) and its epicenter was plotted only 8 km southwest of Kiblawan town, with a depth of 293 km, it said.

A magnitude 2.6 earthquake was also registered at 2:28 a.m. on this same day (Nov. 8) and its epicenter was traced 70 km southeast of General Luna town, in Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte province, with a depth of 11 km, Phivolcs also said, in its bulletin.

Another 3.3 magnitude tremor was recorded at 2:33 a.m. on this same day (Nov. 8) and its epicenter was located 100 km southeast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental province, with a depth of 28 km, it said.

At 3:36 a.m. on the same day, another 2.0 magnitude earthquake was registered and its epicenter was located only 9 km southeast of Caraga, Davao Oriental province with a depth of 33 km, while a 3.2 magnitude tremor was also recorded at 3:53 a.m., also of this same day and its epicenter was traced 119 km southeast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental province, with a shallow depth of only 1 km, the state agency added.
