WHAT’S DONE IS DONE. Kib Montalbo and Ron Dennison have made up, but the new-day rivalry between DLSU and FEU remains.

More than three weeks since the Davao brawl with the two of them in leading roles, Kib Montalbo and Ron Dennison have no ill will against each other.

Of course, they remain in opposite sides in the new-day rivalry between De La Salle University and Far Eastern University.

However, the Green Archers’ captain and the Tamaraws’ leader have apparently now patched up things between then.

“We forgot about it na. Si Dennison, kapwa Bisaya ko rin yan so I’m all good with him,” Montalbo, who hails from Bacolod, said of his Cebuano rival. “I even shook his hand.”

Indeed, when their game ended last Sunday, the two shared a moment in the middle of the MOA Arena.

That’s coming a long way from when they were last on the same court together.

Three weeks ago, the Green Archers and the Tamaraws waged war in the semifinals of the 2017 Kadayawan Tournament before a brawl erupted late in the third quarter.

The game ended in a double forfeiture and several players including DLSU’s Montalbo, Aljun Melecio, Prince Rivero, and Ricci Rivero and FEU’s Dennison, RJ Ramirez, and Arvin Tolentino became the toast of social media.

Perhaps the most viewed video during that brawl was when Dennison blindsided and then knocked down Montalbo with a haymaker.

Fast forward to the UAAP and the defending champions’ graduating guard again re-stressed that what happened then is all in the past. “I forgave him. If he punched me then, wala na akong pakialam dun. What’s done is done,” he said.
