The lives of celebrities seem picture perfect but even they have their fair share of low moments.

Devon Seron

In the case of Devon Seron, it happened a few years after exiting the “Pinoy Big Brother” house in 2010.

The budding actress revealed she almost gave up on showbiz then because she felt like her career was going nowhere. She was landing mostly supporting roles while her contemporaries, like James Reid, were already fast-tracking their way to stardom.

“I remember na almost one year akong walang work.

Good thing she kept at it even as she would go on to earn the moniker “Pambansang Kapatid ng mga Bida.”

Her hard work has paid off with Regal Films granting her a marked role in “Pwera Usog” early this year, which earned the nod of critics.

Annyeong, Devon

Following the success of “Pwera Usog,” Devon landed a leading role in the upcoming movie “You With Me,” alongside Korean heartthrobs Kim Hyun-Woo and Jin Ju-Hyeong.

In it, she plays Kim, a wealthy Filipino girl who goes to Korea to run away from her overprotective parents.

Of course, Devon can only be thankful with the opportunity, which she considers her biggest break so far.

She is not resting on her laurels, however.

Devon admitted she actually “gate crashed” the auditions for the film.

As part of her preparations, Devon underwent a fashion makeover and attended a series of acting workshops. She also studied the Korean language and watched several K-drama series.

“Actually hindi po ako masyasdong into K-drama. Pero pinanuod ko po ’yung series nila (Kim Hyun-Woo and Jin Ju-Hyeong) para makita ko po kung paano sila umarte,” she maintained.

And what’s more exciting is 80 percent of the film was shot in South Korea and the production team was the same people behind TV hit series “Goblin.”

Devon stayed in Korea for months. Any adjustments, we asked.

All praises

“You With Me” is produced by Gitana Productions and directed by Rommel Ricafort.

In a separate interview, Rommel said Devon is perfect choice for the lead role.

Collaborating with a Korean production is totally new for the director.

According to Rommel, Koreans are well-organized and strict with their time.

“Tapos iniintindi muna talaga nilang maigi ang instructions bago sila umalis at kung meron naman silang hindi maintindihan, talagang nagtatanong sila,” he said.

Devon, on her part, describes Koreans as “very mabait.”

Tapos nakakatuwa din kasi walang issue sa kanila ng big star, very maaalaga that’s why madali po ako nakapag-adjust,” she said.

So, how does it feel working with Korean heartthrobs?

“Nakakakilig po,” she said smiling.

Devon, who is a NBSB (No Boyfriend Since Birth) revealed she didn’t have a hard time working with the two especially with their kilig scenes. He describes the actors as very charming.

The 24-year-old actress is open to the possibility of having a romantic relationship with any of her leading men.

(With report from Jojo P. Panaligan)
