San Fernando City, Pampanga — President Duterte has fired off invectives against a United Nations (UN) official for criticizing him over the alleged unlawful deaths in his brutal drug war, calling her a fool for meddling with local affairs.
The President challenged UN Special Rapporteur Agnes Callamard to visit the country and check the country’s drug situation before prejudging his government.
“She’s a fool,” the President said at the end of his sentence rife with invectives at yesterday’s press conference in Pampanga.
“Taga-saan ba ‘yang buang na ‘yan? What is his nationality? (Where does that crazy person come from? What is his nationality?),” he said, apparently unaware about Callamard.
When told Callamard hails from France, the President told the UN official to go home. He acknowledged that unfortunate incidents sometimes happen in anti-drug operations.
“Umuwi siya doon. Mangyayari nang mangyayari ‘yan. Eh sa lugar niya nangyayari, g*g* ka pala [She should go home. Those kinds of incidents will happen, even in her country. She’s a fool],” he said.
Callamard earlier called on the Duterte government to make the “murder” of Kian delos Santos the “last” amid the “cruel” drug crackdown. She also called for an investigation to “all unlawful deaths” as she called for efforts to “stop all murderers.”
The President, however, told Callamard not to threaten him, and instead criticized her for judging his government before knowing more about the situation on the ground.
“Papuntahin mo dito, sige. Sabihin na, ‘Tingnan mo ‘yung sitwasyon’ (Let her come here. Look at the situation) Do not ever give me that kind of sh*t,” he said.
