ANTIPOLO — Blackwater’s inspirational run in the 2017 Governors’ Cup has reached a whole new level.

After matching their franchise record of wins in a single conference at five, the Elite have advanced to the playoffs only for the second time ever following an impressive 118-107 win Sunday against Globalport at the Ynares Center here.

And of course, at the center of it all is import Henry “Mr. Inspiration” Walker.

Since Walker arrived, Blackwater has seen a dramatic rise on its level of play, winning five of seven games to offset a terrible 0-3 start.

Against the Batang Pier, Walker dropped a near triple-double of 19 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists.

Now, they’re in the playoffs.

“I’m just excited man. It’s a testament to the whole staff at Blackwater. Everybody stepped their game up, and it’s been fun,” Walker said.

With the race for the playoffs now over and the attention shifts to final seeding, Walker sees a tough road ahead for the Elite regardless.

But it’s been an inspirational run so far for Blackwater, why stop at just the quarterfinals right?

“It’s gonna be a tough road regardless of where we’re at. That’s what the playoffs are,” Walker said.

“There’s no easy game. Regardless of who we play, we’re coming in, we’re gonna be ready. That’s all we can do, right?” he added.
