Lobregat, who is also chairs the House Committee on Public Works and Highways, said the Duterte government will be pouring substantial funding for infrastructures aimed at addressing the traffic problem, and to bring further progress and development to the city.
“While these national government projects are ongoing, we are asking for your patience and understanding, because it is understandable this will cause further inconvenience, but once these projects are completed it will help resolve our traffic woes,” Lobregat said.
Lobregat added, that once construction goes under way, progress will start to become “very visible to the public.”
Major projects include road widening in main thoroughfares, the completion of the bypass road construction, flood control and school building projects.
He said that, by next year, a lot of civil works will be undertaken, including the project of flood mitigation in urban core, the overpass, drainage, pumping station, among others which costs billion of pesos.
“The national government does is giving permanent solutions to our problems, and it takes political will to do all these things, many people appreciated it,” Lobregat said.
