Art enthusiasts recently gathered together to celebrate creativity and passion at the recent SM Stationery Art Fest at the SM Megamall Mega Fashion Hall. Now on its 2nd year, it showcased popular arts and crafts like Gothic Calligraphy, Floral Doodling, Watercolor Painting and Lettering, Metallic Mandala Art, DIY Shrinky Dinks on Transparent films, and DIY Slime Making.
Ella Lama, an Instagram Juggernaut whose doodles can be found in Berry Book’s 1,001 Awesome Stickers for Kids and Abbey Sy’s The ABC’s of Hand –Lettering, shared some tips on how to make watercolor stickers; while Candymag.com Illustrator Clare Magno taught participants on how to use Sharpie pens on watercolor painting on the DIY canvas bag. Clare also mentioned the importance of three tools: the brain, the eyes, and the hands for creating each masterpiece.
Kids had fun making child friendly, crafty, and non-toxic slimes in the Slime Making activity with preschool teacher Jillian Dungo, a family life and child development magna cum laude graduate from the University of the Philippines. Architect Ging Santos, on the other hand, had fun teaching kids how to make DIY pendants and key chains on transparent film by Shrinky Dinks.
