DAVAO City will never run out of new places and concepts to discover.
If you’re a tourist and it’s your second time to visit Davao or a Dabawenyo who wants to explore new things in your city, here are four new places you might want to consider:
Davao Bamboo Sanctuary and Ecological Park
Situated in a semi-forested area in Barangay Malagos, Baguio District, Davao Bamboo Sanctuary and Ecological Park is now considered as a new tourist attraction in the city.
It is perfect for those who want to escape from the city buzz.
The park is a 3.5 hectare property that was then part swamp, part orchard.
It has a spring pool, pond where you can go fishing, colorful fresh flowers and bamboos.
Hyperbola Ball Pit Cafe
Another cutting-edge concept just jumped in Davao City, is the Hyperbola Ball Pit-Café.
The trendy establishment will let one plunge into a sea of a hundred thousand, 150,000 to be exact, calming white balls playground-designed to promote the transformative and therapeutic power of play.
Located at 1029-B, Emilio Jacinto Extension, Davao City (near Central Bank of the Philippines and fronting Immanuel Baptist Church), the pit is 36 square meters, filled with waist-high level sea of a hundred thousand white balls. The ball pit can accommodate a maximum of 40 players at once.
Altitude indoor trampoline Park
The newly Altitude Indoor Trampoline Park located at Damosa Complex in Lanang brings back childhood memories as one jumps and bounces on their trampolines.
With a whopping floor area of 1,600 square meters, children and young professionals alike are sure to enjoy the array of trampolines and tumble tracks positioned to make their jumping experience more enjoyable.
The newly-opened restaurant is located in Malagos, Baguio District, Davao City (alongside the road before reaching Davao’s popular tourist destinations: Malagos Garden Resort and Philippine Eagle).
At present it serves native delicacies of Bagobo K’lata Tribe.
The word “Ma’a Torro” is a Bagobo K’lata word which means “Mangaon ta (let’s eat!).”
“This is a collaborative effort and idea of Davao Lumad leaders. We decided to open a restaurant like this because we want to show to the public the delicious food prepared by the Lumads,” Kessia Tar, owner of the restaurant said. Tar is from the Bagobo K’lata tribe.
She added that opening such restaurant is also a move necessary to preserve their culture in terms of food and delicacies.
